Temperatures are dropping, pumpkin-flavored treats are all around, and leaves are starting to change! It’s official: Fall has finally arrived. While this season is beloved everywhere, fall at Baylor can be particularly special; here’s why:
1. Homecoming — The most wonderful time of the year for a Baylor Bear, as Pigskin shows off the best of Sing, the bonfire burns bright, the Homecoming Parade offers something for everyone, and we cheer on our Bears at McLane.
2. Thanksgiving dinner — Every year, students gather for a special All-University Thanksgiving Dinner with free food, community, and an appearance from the President and First Gent!
3. Studying outside — Studying outdoors in Texas is not always particularly pleasurable, but when temperatures start dropping into the 70s, laying out a blanket on Fountain Mall or putting a hammock up outside of the SUB makes studying outside a dream!

4. New BU cold-weather gear at the Bookstore — Sweater weather is truly one of the best parts about the fall, and it’s made even better by the BU sweaters and other cold-weather gear from the Baylor Bookstore.
5. Family Treat Night — Each October, Baylor faculty and staff bring their little ones to the residence halls for trick-or-treating, as students decorate their halls, dress up and give out candy, creating a night to remember for future Bears.
6. Colors changing on campus — Our campus is already pretty picture-perfect, but the colors of fall really do put a special touch on the Baylor campus.
7. Pumpkin-flavored treats at all the local favorites — Everybody knows that pumpkin spice lattes are one of the most hyped parts of fall, but the Waco coffee scene goes above and beyond for their fall-themed drinks. Swing by Common Grounds and grab their fan-favorite Pumpkin Patch, head to Dichotomy for their unique Sweet Potato Pie Latte, or go to Pinewood Coffee Bar for their amazing Fall Spice Latte.
Sic ’em, fall!
